Hi SAP EWM Team

 

Here is the scenario.

 

OEM sends 10 pallets against an inbound delivery.

When it goes through customs it gets split up and the 1st two pallets get put on 1 train and the remaining put on the next train.

 

So we need the ability to scan under one PO, do a partial receipt in SAP EWM side and the same should update in R/3.

 

Please suggest the best possible approach for this process.

production integration issue

Hello Experts,

 

I have configured production integration with EWM warehouse, components supplying and production supply areas are assigned to EWM warehouse for all type of control cycles. So, i have created, released and staged production order successfully - it is creating outbound delivery with DOG delivery type and DOGN item category , but not distributing to EWM , because of incorrect Ship to party determination .

 

How can i fix this issue , please suggest me on this.

FM or Method for posting change

Goods receipt not happening in EWM

Hi,

I have created the inbound delivery in ERP against Purchase order and inbound delivery successfully got distributed to EWM. On trying Goods receipt in t- code /scwm/prdi, system do not give any error but GR status is not getting updated as 'completed'.

 

I tried to configure basic configuration for GR but it is not happening neither system is giving any error.

can anybody suggest what setting i am missing.

 

i have copied st type 9010 and WPT  1010.

Fixed Bin strategy in EWM

Hello Experts,

 

I am working to configure fixed bin strategy in system.I have made following settings in fixed bin storage type-

Use Fixed Bin X

Do Not assign fixed bin automatically X

Conf.Putaway  X

Capacity Check 1

Putaway Rules 2

 

I have assigned a fixed bin to the product and have maintained maximum capacity 20 G(For testing )

In my storage bin master data I have maintained maximum bin capacity as 20 G again.

Capacity consumption in unit of measure tab based on calculation as total bin capacity/max prod qty (20/20=1) I have assigned 1

 

In my putaway sequence I have defined fixed bin storage and then reserve storage type.

 

When I try to create delivery for 25 G ,its directly going to reserve storage.

My expectation is it should first go to fixed bin,remaining qty should go to reserve storage.

 

Can someone point out what is missing?

SAP Hana with EWM 9.1

Hi EWM followers,

 

I am opening this discussion to try to understand what is really available on SAP EWM with SAP Hana (except the labor demand part which is more clear).

Yes there's some documentation available but at the end I didn't really succeed to make my mind on that.

 

- Can EWM run entirely on SAP HANA (meaning document creation, modification,.. are only stored and commit within an hana DB) or HANA is just available with the "side by side" approach involving SLT tool, etc...?

 

- If HANA is activated only with the "side by side" approach. How EWM knows where to query information (classic SQL DB or Hana)? Does the code needs to be changed (either standard or Z) or it queries database in hana by itself when they are replicated to hana?

Movement type 321 and posting change creation in EWM

Hi guys, I need a little help here.

 

Every time the quality department post the usage decision through QA32, the system performs the 321 movement type transferring the material from quality to unrestricted use. Although the material is transferred from quality to unrestricted use at the same time, the system creates a delivery (posting change) that remains open in EWM.

 

My doubt is: why we need the posting change in EWM if the status change (321 movement type) was already done in ECC and also in EWM. Or why the system perform the movement if the delivery (posting change) in EWM is still open?


Which is the right way to work?


1. After the posting of QA32, the system should create a posting change in EWM and wait until the processing is completed, then transfer the result to ECC;


2. The system performs the movement type 321, changes both systems and does not create the delivery (posting change) in EWM.


And why I have a mix of both processes?

Putaway Warehouse Order without Reference Doc number - ID no.

Hi, There,

 

I am have a issue on the warehouse order - Header - Doc.Ref and item number

 

I have 2 different inbound delivery in EWM:

delivery 01 - packed with HUs

delivery 02 - without HU

 

When created WO for those 2 inbound deliveries, I found a different output for those 2 WOs.

delivery 01 - packed with HUs    -> WO created without reference document number in WO item

delivery 02 - without HU   -> WO created with reference document number & item (inbound delivery number)

 

I am doing a opportunistic cross-docking testing, and the pick WO won't consider the putaway WO of delivery 01, as there is no reference doc id (found from debug.)

 

Anyone can give more idea here?

EWM Packaging Specification Query

Hi Friends

 

I need your help to clear my understanding about the Packaging specification

 

From help I know , in this master data we can define the packaging requirements of a product (single level or nested) and further this data can called in different processes using condition technique. While looking into the system , I can see different condition types availble for Inbound , palletization and outbound , warehouse task

 

I created a single level specification where I specified 100 EA of a product will be packed in a packaging material. I defined  OPAL, OIBD and OWHT condition record in the packaging specification with Supply unit and product details.

 

Now if I create an ID of 130 EA.

Will system create two HUs (100 EA and 30 EA) during the packing function ( Manual Packing) or it will create two WT at the time of final putaway ?

Also I am not clear why there are different condition type for different processes ? I can use the same condition for palletization and inbound process but not sure why different conditions are provided here , I would appreciate if you can help me to understand this..

9.2 GR from Production - Serial numbers

Hello Experts,

 

hope you can help me again,

 

I've set up a WH Level serial number profile in ECC and EWM, I have asigned the profile in the material in ECC and Cif it over to EWM. I have also assigned the "SN" Quantity Offsetting Role to all item delivery profiles. Work Center is also set up for serial numbers.

 

I have tested using Tcode:  /SCWM/GRPI - GR Preparation - Production;  system asks to populate the serial numbers & creates the inbound delivery with no issues.--> it is working.

 

The issue is that when I use RF Tcode> Inbound Processes > Receiving of HUs > Receiving Hus by Manufacturing Order>Rec. HU by HU (fast path

3462). I'm getting error message just after populating the WC and the Manufacturing order:  E: Cannot process products with serial numbers or valuation qty for order 1000573 (/SCWM/RF_EN243)

 

Do I need to activate anything in Radio Frequency for serial numbers? I haven't found any documentation that talks about it.

Incoterms in outbound delivery order

Hello

 

In our business we change the incoterms even after picking and packing of items. The field is not open in outbound delivery order to change. I have tried to add warehouse activity status started and unchecked the field display in the field control profile scdl/out_prd_standard and tried even the same for system profile for the incoterm field but this has not resulted in making the field editable even as soon as ODO is created.

 

I cant understand why does the system not open this field, what am I missing?
Any clues.

Storage type search Sequence for stock removal - Cross-docking

Hi Guru,

 

I am testing the Opp. CD scearnios, and I am having a issue here for the storage type search sequence determination for stock removal. System version is EWM7.2.

 

I have done all required configured, but I found It won't pick up the open putaway WT when creating the WT for outbound delivery order with below configuration of storage type search squence for stock removal.

throught the debug, we found the root cause is it found stock removal rule 'LV_FIFO = ture', then it ignore the open putaway WT, below is the screen shot.

more over, we tried to find out why it got the stock removal rule 'FIFO', why it won't select the 'ROCD' as we have all the parameters setup both in master data and transaction doc. Finally, we found that it consider the stock type ' F2' in the outbound delivery order item. And it can't find the appropriate entry in the storage type search sequence for stock removal table. then it pick the first entry, that's why it gets 'FIFO'. Then ignore my open putaway WT.

If I put one more entry in the table as below, then it works.

we have 2 questions here:

1. Why it will ignore the open putaway WT when stock removal rule is FIFO in cross-docking scenario?

2. I don't think adding the F2 into the storage type search sequnece table is corrrect, it should be control by the cross-docking stock determination control configuration. Anyone know what I should do to fix it?

Difference between storage type and storage bin level replenishment

Hello experts,

 

I have been doing hands on to understand difference between storage type level and storage bin level replenishment.However I have come across a few queries that I would like to present here for member's views and suggestions-

Replenishment activated at storage type level (This has got fixed bin putaway strategy)

Product A is assigned to two fixed bins B1 and B2.

In product master storage type tab max and min qty have been maintained.

When I run replenishment system proposes a replenishment qty of 24 EA and on creating warehouse task,it is only considering bin B2 and creates replenishment task for qty 22 EA (2 EA is missing but I am not focusing on it).

 

Questions:1 ) Does that mean for storage type level replenishment system always considers the first bin it finds for the product irrespective of capacity of bin?

2) If capacity is considered, where do I maintain bin capacity?

 

3)If I can make system consider bin capacity even for a storage type level replenishment strategy then what is the difference between storage type and storage bin level replenishment?

Transaction to see IDOCs for inbound and outbound delivery

Hi All

 

I have a very basic question. Currently I am working on the business scenario's as mentioned below.

 

  1. Inbound delivery and outbound delivery gets created in my client's SAP system and data about this inbound and outbound delivery needs to be transmitted to 3rd Party Non SAP Warehouse via middleware through Idocs.

 

For the flow of IDOCs from SAP to 3rd party warehouse we will use standard SAP Idocs.

 

Now my very basic query is that what is the SAP transaction through which I can see standard SAP IDocs to be used for inbound and outbound delivery?

 

I searched SCN for Idoc for outbound delivery and came to know I can use message type DESADV and IDoc type DELVRY03. Now my query is what is the difference between message type and Idoc type and how can I search in system which message type and Idoc type to use for a scenario?

 

Hope I am clear in my query.

Putaway problem: Storage Section, HU-Types and Storage bin types

Dear Experts,

 

I have following scenarion to be tested:

 

A storage contains 4 storage sections:

 

A, B, C and D.

 

There are 2 Storage bin types:

 

Big bins for storage sections A,B and C.

 

Small bins for storage sections D.

 

3 HU-Types are existing for the Storage:

 

Big HUs: Types 11 and 12

 

Small HUs: Types 13.

 

No I have a problem during the putaway of empty HUs (Small, type 13) when the all bins of the storage type D are blocked...

 

My rule for the putaway of HU of type 13 is following:

 

- If storage section D is availible -> putaway there

- If storage section D is not availible -> putaway into A (than B and than C)

 

My customizing looks following:
